South Africa: A great place to do business

I thought it might be a good idea to give my blog readers some information on South Africa. Not everyone has had the pleasure of visiting this incredible country so you may not be aware of some of the benefits of doing business here.

I should add that in addition to my role at Teleperformance, I am also on the board of BPeSA (Business Process enabling South Africa), the national trade association for companies operating in the business process and outsourcing market in South Africa. So in addition to trying to win more business for Teleperformance, I am always keen to promote a better understanding of South Africa in general.

At BPeSA we work hard to create a strong and sustainable industry that contributes to the national needs of job creation and economic development in South Africa. We actively represent the interests of our members as companies, but we also do a lot of work on developing professional skills and career paths in this industry.

Industry analysts, such as Gartner, frequently rank South Africa as one of the most attractive places in the world for business process services so I don’t need to list all the statistics here – the analysts all rank us highly so you can read their independent research.

The government has also seen how South Africa has become known internationally as a serious player within this market and they have launched several initiatives to help accelerate the number of people entering the industry – our business creates jobs so the government has been very supportive in helping to ensure people have the right skills to work in our companies.

The international services market is expected to top a value of $930bn by 2015. South Africa already has great experience in business process services, is rated highly by the analysts, and is on the same time zone as Europe.

I really do expect to see a lot more interest in what we are doing here over the next few years and I would be happy to talk to you about what South Africa can offer – whether it is related to my role in Teleperformance or BPeSA. Do get in touch with me directly so we can talk about what the rainbow nation can do for your business.
